ERIC CAYLA csc Director of Photography

Eric Cayla’s passion for cinematography came to him at an young age and since then has never ceased to be fascinated by the language of moving images.

After studies in Cinema and Communications in Montreal, Eric specialized in Cinematography at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles (1983-84).

His filmography includes documentaries and feature films such as Machine Gun Molly (2003), White Skin (2003), The Bay of Love and Sorrows (2002), Babel (1999), Karmina (1996), Le Sexe des étoiles (1993), Cap Tourmente (1993) ), as well as a number of television series; Bellevue (2017), Shadow Hunters (2015), Bomb Girls (2012-2013), Haven (2010-2014), Durham County (2009-2010), Dead Zone (2007).

Eric Cayla has earned 11 nominations in the “Best Direction of Photography” category in Canada and abroad. In 2014 he was awarded the Kodak New Century Award by the Canadian Society of Cinematographers in recognition for outstanding contribution to cinematography.
